Camp STH is a co­ed academic prep and enrichment experience to help rising 6th-­8th graders prepare for their transition from middle school to high school and beyond.

Theater Performance Camp​ / June 19 - 29, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (weekdays only)

Do you have a flair for the dramatic? Have a sense of humor, like to make others laugh or cry? Do you have what it takes to command the stage or become the next big star?​

Theater Performance Camp can help aspiring young actors and musical theater performers spark a curiosity or reach their dreams. Students entering grades 6­-12 will collaborate with STH Theater Director Dan Green who owns more than twenty years experience leading acclaimed STH productions, including recent performances of West Side Story, Oklahoma!, Macbeth, Treasure Island, Fiddle on the Roof, Beauty and the Beast, The Mouse That Roared and George Washington Slept Here. The nine­-day highly orchestrated workshop focuses on having fun while stretching the performing talents of artists of all levels culminating in an exciting summer showcase. Debate Camp / July 24 - 28, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

This rewarding one-week camp with a focus on Public Forum Debate is designed by acclaimed college preparatory faculty members to give beginners entering grades 6 - 12 an introduction to basic oratory skills such as pacing, articulation and body language, all fundamental elements to deliver speeches and debate clearly, concisely and persuasively.

Our middle school students will develop core presentation and communications skills that boost confidence and self-esteem, all in a safe and secure environment while having fun.

All students are instructed with effective debate strategies rooted in logic and critical thinking, research and analysis, leadership and teamwork, rebuttals and summary.

The goal is for all campers take ownership of their intellectual development, learn to read an audience and use creativity to persuade, as well as better express thoughts in academic work and college applications.

St. Thomas in collaborating with St. Agnes Academy have assembled a team of renown instructors with deep expertise who have mentored award-winning results from the National Forensics League, Texas Forensics Association, National Speech and Debate Association, Tournament of Champions and Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools.

There’s no debate - gaining a greater command as a public speaker and the power of debate are increasingly valuable strengths for life-long success. Let’s get started!

UT Health / Children’s Learning Institute Summer Tutoring Program

June 5 - 29 / Monday - Thursday, 9 - 11:00 a.m. or 12 - 2:00 p.m.

The Dan L. Duncan Children’s Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the Children’s Learning Institute was created through the generosity of the Dan L. Duncan family and is part of the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. The mission is to enhance children's opportunities for successful living by providing them with individualized, research-based assessment and clinical services. This summer, enroll your child ild in a tutoring program that will provide skills for success in Reading for the upcoming school year, with special emphasis on listening and reading comprehension, vocabulary and fluency, word attack skills and spelling. This program targets both struggling students as well as students seeking enrichment activities.

This program offers low tutor-to student ratios (1:1 or 1:2) for students entering grades 4 - 8. All intervention programs are evidence-based and have been identified as effective approaches to reading instruction. Based on assessment results and needs, an individualized instruction plan will be implemented.

St. Thomas is partnering with UT Health / Children’s Learning Institute to offer this select opportunity at St. Thomas this summer.

Eagle Athletic Training Middle School Camp/ June 12 - 15, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Gain insights to better prepare and pursue athletic training at the high school level. Learn from the extensive experience of Eagle Athletics head trainer Chris Valdez and his valuable association with the cutting-edge sports performance specialists at Memorial Hermann since 2010.

Campers will receive a comprehensive overview of many aspects of athletic training, receive one-on-one instruction and gain an introduction to wide variety of topics, techniques, procedures and injury evaluation, providing participants with a well rounded scope. Bring a curiosity and leave with greater understanding to a future as an athletic trainer.

Eagle Athletics Middle School Strength Training and Agility Camp/ July 10-13 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

No minimum ability level required to participate. Experienced members of the Eagle Athletics coaching staff demonstrate why the most productive athlete is not the strongest one, but the one who can gain functional strength and flexibility. Areas of emphasis are speed development, core strength development, injury prevention, plyometrics and stretching. Parents and athletes will also gain valuable information on nutrition and the impact on reaching fitness goals.

All campers must be equipped in athletic apparel and athletic shoes.

Eagle Baseball Middle School Hitting Camp / July 10-12, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Designed to provide a fun, low pressure atmosphere where players can receive individual instruction to improve their fundamentals while developing a love for the game.

State champion coach Ryan Lousteau, who led Eagle Baseball in 2016 to the first national ranking in the program’s acclaim history, strives to offer the best learning environment possible. The commitment to excellence also includes staff assistant and faculty member Sean O’Neill ‘00, former Eagle state champion and current Houston Cougars assistant coach Austin Bear ‘10, plus select current collegiate student-athletes who provide young players with the proper role models to build future success.

Personal player development emphasizes mental preparation and hitting philosophy, foundation and balance, hand-eye coordination, proper weight transfer, opposite field hitting, situational hitting, hitting with two strikes, all within the confines of historic Fr. Wilson Field, home to 23-time state champion Eagle Baseball.

All campers must be equipped with baseball pants or athletic shorts, bat, batting gloves, batting helmet if available, fielding glove, cap, cleats or athletic shoes.

Eagle Baseball Middle School Pitching Camp / June 19-21, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Designed for the player ready to take his game up a notch. Instruction is directed and conducted by state champion coach Ryan Lousteau, who led Eagle Baseball in 2016 to the first national ranking in the program’s acclaim history, along with Eagle pitching coach Clayton VanderLaan and former major league pitcher Jeff McCurry ‘88. The experienced trio takes great pride in the quality of instruction, providing a low coach to camper ratio with high energy attention to detail, including pitching philosophy, how to create a throwing program and workout strategy, proper throwing mechanics and injury prevention.

This is a baseball opportunity that we are confident will exceed your expectations. All campers must be equipped with baseball pants or athletic shorts, glove, cleats or athletic shoes.

Eagle Basketball Middle School Camp / June 5 - 8 or June 19 - 22, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

An extensive four-day camp led by Eagle Basketball head coach John Kwok and staff members to better maximize the summer basketball season. Current and former Eagle student-athletes complete the instruction promoting individual development through a variety of skill instruction sessions and competitive daily scrimmages with an emphasis on offensive / defensive team concepts.

Camp will be conducted in legendary Reckling Gymnasium on the STH campus. All campers should be equipped with basketball shoes and appropriate athletic wear.

Eagle Cross Country Middle School Distance Running Camp / June 12 - 15, 7:00-10:00 a.m.

Designed by Eagle state championship coach and former University of Houston track and field performer Nathan Labus with a focus on training paces, form running, nutrition and core development.

Campers from a full spectrum of experience and skill levels are encouraged to attend. From the very first session, our talented staff will identify the needs and goals for each camper and provide an experience ideal for each one. Training sessions are designed in small groups so coaches and counselors have more opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the campers.

Campers must be equipped with running apparel, running shoes, running watch, towel and water bottle, and be prepared for morning runs followed by classroom sessions and then pool workouts.

Come experience first-hand the blueprint for the winning tradition established and continuing at St. Thomas. Hosted by Eagle Football veteran head coach Rich McGuire and coaching staff including former Texas A&M record-setting quarterback Jerrod Johnson with a primary focus of five important areas to develop the young football player ... including DISCIPLINE, TEAM, FUNDAMENTALS, RUNNING and COMPETITION.

Campers will enjoy one-on-one interaction with our elite coaching staff and student-athletes, and benefit from teaching techniques that will help improve the speed and skill level of each participant.

Eagle Football Middle School Jerrod Johnson Passing Camp / July 10-13, 6:00-8:00 p.m

Join former Texas A&M record-setting quarterback Jerrod Johnson for a proven process to program success for football’s individual offensive skill positions ... quarterback, receivers, running backs and tight ends.

Johnson and position-specific coaches conduct creative sessions featuring innovative drills and competitions to equip our campers with the tools to rise to the next level ... proper throwing mechanics, route running, individual skill development, all with a sense of competitiveness and an emphasis on motivation and sportsmanship.

The quarterback position is the most difficult position to play in sports ... and often the most under-coached. Build your confidence with the necessary foundation of fundamentals while having fun and becoming a better leader and communicator.

Designed exclusively for rising 6th-8th grade offensive and defensive linemen and coached by Eagle Football head coach Rich McGuire with former collegiate all-conference performers.

Skill development will focus on all aspects of line play including run blocking ... pass protection ... pursuit angles ... slant technique ... gap control ... plus additional skills which promise to make an immediate individual impact.

A limited coach-to-athlete ratio allows for individualized and small group / classroom instruction.

Our campers achieve a powerful sense of confidence by learning repetition with perfect execution of fundamentals.

Eagle Track and Field Middle School Camp / Pole Vault and Hurdles / June 12-15, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Designed by Eagle state championship coach and former University of Houston track and field performer Nathan Labus to teach, instruct and guide campers with the most cutting-edge techniques for the respective individual events.

Pole Vault instruction will emphasize event-specific training including the run, plant, swing and flyaway techniques. Hurdle instruction focuses on proven running and hurdling form plus block starts. Training sessions are designed in small groups so coaches and counselors have more opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the campers .

Eagle Lacrosse is on the rise! Join head coach Erinn O’Hara and members of his staff for intense position specific instruction and nightly controlled scrimmages which emphasize skill development, as well as the love and spirit of the game for one of the fastest growing team sports in the country.

Camp will be conducted under the lights at beautiful Hotze Field inside Granger Stadium on the St. Thomas campus. All campers must have appropriate lacrosse gear, including stick, helmet and protective gear. Cleats are recommended.

An accomplished staff led by Eagle Rugby state championship coach and program founder Jim Wolfinger, acclaimed Eagle assistant coaches and professional guest coaches build core fundamentals, skill development and tactical awareness in a supportive and fun environment. This is a non-contact, no-tackling camp emphasizing positive character development, as well as the spirit of the game for one of the fastest growing team sports in the country.

Camp will be conducted under the lights at beautiful Hotze Field inside Granger Stadium on the STH campus. All campers must be equipped with appropriate rugby gear, including athletic shorts, t-shirt or jersey, and mouthpiece. Cleats are highly recommended.

Hosted by longtime Eagle Soccer head coach Kenny Martin and his varsity coaching staff along with former standout Eagle student-athletes now competing at the collegiate level.

Each of our instructors is selected for their specific expertise to comprise a balanced approach creating a challenging yet fun environment for learning. Daily individualized attention emphasizes technical topics, as well as small group tactical work and individual development including passing, dribbling, defending, possession and shooting.

Individual instruction from Eagle head coach Phillip Joseph and staff assistant Michael LeHolm, both former NCAA Division I performers at Eastern Michigan University, who are committed to ensuring that every camper receives the same support, guidance, and training that our Eagle student-athletes receive at a level that matches their age and experience in the sport.

This camp is designed for aspiring wrestlers who are wanting to learn about the sport and are committed to the training and lifestyle necessary to succeed at the highest level. Campers should be prepared for a training environment that will challenge their physical and mental abilities while learning the basics of wrestling. All experience levels are welcome.
